Cross-Country Race 2 - New Richmond

This past weekend was the second race (of six) in the cross-country series that is being held in communities throughout the Baie des Chaleurs region. This race had a "fluo" (i.e. flourescent) theme, which explains the bright colors in the photos. Since hunting season is starting here, perhaps that was just a cover-up to prevent racers from getting shot as they gallop through the trees.

The weather was substantially cooler - a nice temperature for running - but kind of on the chilly side for the times when we had to stand around. It is making us wonder what it will be like at the final race in November.

Being that this is our second race, we noticed significant improvements for all. This week it was Brienne's turn to take home a medal, Celine was on the podium last week. It looks like Laurent has his work cut-out for him as he does not want to be up-staged by his sisters, but competition among the boys is significantly fiercer. I am no where near the podium, but I am happy to see my times decrease.

What follows are some photos from the race.
