We went for an overnight backpacking trip this weekend. The weather was a warm, sunny, 55 F spring day on the way in, and a chilly, wet, snowing, 35 F spring day on the way out. The contrast between the two days was both beautiful and startling.

Mom, we were absolutely warm enough. You know me, I don't do cold.
We anticipated rain for the hike out so appreciated the snow which is less wet.

Yes, it is the Sawyer River trail. We had originally intended on backpacking into Sawyer pond up the Sawyer Pond trail. The problem was that the water level was too high for crossing the Swift River, thus we opted for the Sawyer River trail instead.
The trail was very pretty, I can only imagine all the bugs that are on that trail when things warm up a little more though...
