Our new Dirty Girl gaiters were thoroughly tested this weekend on a hike to Lac aux Americains followed by a summit of Mont Xalibu. There is a lot more scree and talus around here than we had experienced when we lived in Maine, so keeping rocks out of our shoes has become a priority. The trail we took was a section of the International Appalachian Trail. When we got to the summit we were enticed by a series of small mountain lakes in the distance; we now have some ideas for out next backpacking trip.
