Our 10 year-old boy has some skill - at least we, the proud parents, think so anyway. He spends so much time drawing and painting that he has gotten pretty good at it. Better actually than his reading and writing (but that is a story for another day, probably on FIMBY). Art is his primary outlet for creativity and expression, and he also uses it as a tool for communication, sometimes even writing us notes in comic book form (like the time he broke the scissors).

Pictograph: a picture that represents a word or an idea.

It is with great pleasure that I present to you Laurent's first blog: Pictograph. Pictograph is Laurent's space to share some of his favorite drawings, paintings, and sketches. It is a place for him to get feedback from people other than his family :-) It is his virtual lemonade stand or table at the craft fair. If you see something you like, you can support his artistic endeavors by purchasing one or more of his works on a greeting card.

I, being the tech savvy one in the family, was responsible for getting this off the ground for him, but it is my goal to hand over the reins. In addition to giving him a larger audience for his work, we are also using this as a homeschool project. He will be learning about computers, blogging, the Internet, money, and business. He will be learning how to scan images, log into his blog, upload the images, tag them, check his comments, make the cards, and send them in the mail. %100 of all sales (after PayPal skims their portion) will go to him in support of his artistic endeavors.
